I love chocolate! I could eat it at any time of the day, and often do. There is nothing I love better than finding healthy ways to incorporate chocolate into my food and smoothie bowls are my favourite way to do so. Here is my recipe for a delicious chocolate smoothie bowl.

Smoothie bowls are one of my favourite snacks. They are basically a smoothie in a bowl (kind of obvious) but I like to have mine a little thicker than I would when making a regular smoothie. All you need is a blender, along with the ingredients, and you are good to go.

It is the toppings which make smoothie bowls so Insta-worthy. I love getting creative, using what I can find in my kitchen to pair flavours which complement the bowl I have just created. For this chocolate smoothie, I recommend topping with fresh bananas, granola, cacao nibs, along with some peanut butter and chocolate sauce, for the ultimate combination of delicious flavours and textures.

Chocolate Smoothie Bowl
Total time: 5 minutes
Servings: 1
Ingredients
2 medium bananas, frozen
2 tsp cacao powder
150ml plant-based milk
Toppings - Banana, cacao nibs, granola, desiccated coconut, peanut butter, chocolate sauce
Instructions
Chop your bananas and place in the freezer overnight.
Add the frozen banana chunks to a blender along with the cacao powder and plant-based milk (I used coconut) and blend until smooth. You can add additional milk depending on how thick you want your smoothie bowl to be.
Serve in a bowl with your desired toppings.

Notes
I tend to keep a rather large store of bananas in my freezer so I can make a smoothie bowl whenever I fancy, which tends to be most days...
For a kick of protein, add a scoop of your favourite vegan protein powder - For this recipe, I'd recommend a chocolate protein.
